The deal for Garland had an odd twist to it because the teams were playing each other. He was in the Diamondbacks’ dugout when the trade was announced and walked from the visiting to the home clubhouse at Dodger Stadium afterward, calling the experience ‘definitely weird.’

As L.A. manager Joe Torre pointed out, Garland ‘was due to pitch against us Thursday, and chances are he may pitch Thursday for us, but this thing happened so late and so quickly we haven’t really made that determination.’

Last night, Jon Garland was traded to the Dodgers in the middle of the Dbacks-Dodgers game.
