I’m realizing what it is to be a normal person … It’s most likely that I don’t return to active baseball …but honestly I don’t know if I’ll definitively announce my retirement.

Pedro Martinez on hanging ‘em up. This can’t be too surprising considering that Martinez did not pitch during the 2010 season. If he does decide to retire, it will put an end to one of the greatest pitchers and most entertaining players one will ever see. You can put Pedro’s 1999 and 2000 seasons up against anyone and Martinez will probably come out on top. My hope is that Martinez pulls a Rickey Henderson and waits years before formally announcing his retirement allowing all of us to continue to discussing Martinez as a possible back of rotation replacement for another five to ten years.
