9:30 P.M. (SNY) GOING HOME: DAVID WRIGHT

Wright, the Mets’ third baseman, travels to his hometown, Chesapeake, Va., with the field reporter Kevin Burkhardt, where the two visit Wright’s high school. There he excelled as an athlete and aspired to become an engineer but ultimately turned down a scholarship to Georgia Tech to go pro — making sure his contract stipulated that his college tuition would be paid for after he retires. The men also look at Wright’s off-season hitting program and charitable endeavors and visit with his family, where his brother Daniel does a humorous imitation of David answering questions after a game.
