Dear Mr Wilpon,
It is time to stop the bleeding. Fire Jerry Manuel. He has ruined the atmosphere in the clubhouse. The Mets cannot win with him as the manager. While you’re at it, fire Omar too.
Thanks, An unhappy Met fan

P.S. Jerry Manuel and Dan Warthen RUIN pitchers; he can go too.
While we’re at it, let’s clean house completely. How is Dave Racaniello still the bullpen catcher? How does he still have a job? Let’s can him too. Obviously he’s not communicating what he sees prior to the start of every game to Dan Warthen. What happened to Pelfrey last night? Didn’t Rac see? Of course he did.
I kid. But honestly, calm down. The season isn’t over. The pitching isn’t the main issue. Jason Bay is having a strange year; Barajas and Blanco have declined considerably in their offensive production; Francoeur has been in one of those long funks as well.
So Pelfrey has hit a skid. What have you to say about the brilliance of Dickey and Niese’s seasons? How about Santana’s turn-around? Clearly Takahashi needs to work out of the bullpen and they need another starter. Let’s set aside yesterday’s disaster and remember they’re still in the race and they’re above .500, which is a ton better than whatever that mess was last year. Beltran has just returned and Reyes needs to come to form again coming off the injury (or re-injury).
Lazy fans always blame the manager. I don’t really care if they keep or fire Manuel, I just don’t think it makes a big difference.
The team they have right now is good enough to at least win a wild card, if they just get their head out of their asses and play to their ability.
