Wags Loves New York, Mets Sold Him For A Song

I still feel like the Mets took a bad deal in return for Wagner. It was completely mishandled. They could have done much better and it’s almost comical that the Red Sox will wind up getting draft picks. Sometimes it boggles the mind the way the Mets operate. The Mets essentially sold two draft picks to save $3.2 million. They don’t draft over slot and now it seems like they’re even willing to forgo future talent for money. This is one of the biggest issues with future planning with the team. They seem to perpetually lack forward focus and can only plan for the present, and rarely even the near future.

This seems to be a case of guilt by association, and nothing more.
